"I want to hold your hand" is a famous song by the Beatles, and isn't it wonderful to stroll down the street with your loved one next by? With this gadget you will be able to hold your partner's hand even when you are physically apart!
The ComMittens is a part of the Interaction Design Project Course given at Chalmers University of Technology during spring 2011. The purpose is to design interesting concepts that are more or less related to the theme "Lightness".
Our group have used what we like to call "light communication", which is quick, discrete and free from text or speech, as a foundation to our concept. This has sprung from trends such as the usage of the Facebook poke, different services for sharing and other projects similar to ours.
Our prototype works like this: You simply put one of our mittens on, squeeze the cozy foam filled hand and thus trigger a squeeze from your partner's identical foam hand. Of course, when you feel a squeeze on YOUR hand, that is a response to an interaction from your partner as well.
Come visit us at the IDXPO and try it out!
