In the prototype each ring will correspond to a specific genre, this however can easily be modified. The rings will be attached together in an appliance which will hang down from the ceiling in the lobby of the library.
The rings will be projected with light from projectors making them appear as big, circular-shaped screens. To be able to use the entire ring's area as screen at least three different projectors from different angles should be used. In our prototype the goal is to use three projectors with an angle of 120 degrees as illustrated in the figure below (However it should be enough to make sure that at least one is working correctly. So therefore the test will be performed with one projector first and then gradually increase the amount of projectors).

Motor assembly will be used both to move the screens as well as to resize them. Since it should be possible to raise or lower the rings depending on different criteria (in our prototype this will illustrate the popularity of that specific genre) each ring must have some kind of motor driven device to adjust its height. To be able to change the size of the rings based on the criteria at hand each screen will be equipped with one, perhaps two, motor assembled devices to smoothly increase or decrease the diameter of the ring.
